Our Pipeline Team is looking for an Engineering Team Lead, a critical and visible role at ChartMogul. Your primary responsibilities will be to support people and projects and help set the technical direction for your team. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the direction of our product, and as you grow into the role, you will take on additional functions.


Responsibilities:

  • Build, guide, scale and mentor one of our product teams 
  • Support the creation and execution of delivery plans and quarterly team goals, deploy best-in-class processes, and innovate in software engineering
  • Proactively identify, prioritize, triage and resolve issues as they arise
  • Help support multiple work streams, projects, and deliverables of your team
  • Responsibilities are approximately 70% tech (tech design input, architecture and PR reviews, coding, etc.) and 30% team management/people support
  • Contribute to technology strategy; take a front seat in our decision-making on evolving our data processing pipeline using technologies that fit our purposes

Job requirements

Professionally

  • At least 6+ years of experience in web development, with at least 1+ years of experience managing engineering teams
  • Strong technical leadership skills, including architecting robust distributed systems
  • Empathetic, with a preference for servant leadership, and respected as a team builder and mentor
  • Excellent communication skills
  • You are very well versed with Ruby on Rails
  • Experience in SQL and data processing — we use PostgreSQL for almost everything
  • Good knowledge of software development fundamentals; how to structure programs and decompose problems, when to apply patterns, when and how to select the right paradigm for a task
  • Next to speaking English fluently, you can understand and translate business requirements into clearly articulated technology solutions

Nice to Have

  • Experience AWS (especially Kubernetes clusters)
  • Experience with CI/CD systems
  • Familiarity with Data Engineering infrastructure
